Community Involvement is at
the heart of everything that Neighbourhood Management
is involved in. The community has to play a central
role in the development and shaping of service
delivery and planning, so that the area can become
a better place to live in, work in, and visit.
To ensure community involvement is meaningful a
number of opportunities and initiatives have been
developed.
Training and personal Development
There are a selection of training opportunities
that anyone living or working within the NM area
can access to enable them to feel competent and
confident about getting involved. These range
from personal development training courses (Assertiveness
or Confidence Building for example) to task specific
training (Tenant Representative training on Advocacy
and Support, or Environmental Audit Training,
for example)
There are a number of established topic based
groups now established through NM including:
NM Tenants Forum (for the tenants of private landlords)
Join to get support about your housing issues,
learn about your rights, support other tenants,
and meet new friends.

old. Have fun, discuss your issues, meet other
young people, and get a new activity in your
life.

experiences to good use. Join us over a coffee

your area. Report abandoned cars, overgrown bushes,

the area cleaner and safer for everyone.

good for the local community and attractive for
the visitors.
