Do you have what it takes to represent your community?
The Resident Elections for places on the NM Board will take place in October 2005. There are four of the eight resident places available – two to represent Springbourne and two to represent Boscombe West.
The map below shows the NM Boundaries, marked by the black line, and the NM Electoral Boundaries, marked by the blue dashed line, with Springbourne to the north of the dashed line and Boscombe West to the south:
There are several steps involved if you wish to stand for election, so if you feel you have what it takes to be a Board Member (time, commitment and a strong support of your community), the basic steps are:
•
Contact us on 458970 to find out more, or call into the NM Offices, 22 Sea Road, Boscombe
•
Obtain a copy of ‘Information for Candidates’ from the NM Offices or download it from here. The Information for Candidates pack contains more detailed information on what is required of a Resident Board Member and what is required for those standing for election.
•
Attend one of the workshops, either on:
Tuesday 9th August 2pm – 5pm
Saturday 20th August 10am – 1pm
Wednesday 24th August 5.30pm – 8.30pm
Thursday 1st September 5.30pm – 8.30pm
All of which will be held at the NM Offices, 22 Sea Road.
•
Complete a nomination form and return to the ERS by the 9th September 2005. Nomination Forms will be sent through the post at the beginning of August 2005. The form will arrive with the registration form, but if you do not receive either or receive them addressed to ‘the occupier’, you should follow the instructions given to register.
More information on being a Resident Board Member can also be obtained from the four current Resident Board Members who will not be up for election this year:
